Next Stop, Nepal!
On Monday, November 7th, five of our members left Connecticut for a two and a half week trip to Sabhung, Nepal. This is our first trip to Sabhung and is being used to conduct a health assessment of the village, an engineering assessment of how the villager’s access water, and to understand how access to water can be improved. Unfortunately, the recent snow storm has left the Pond House Cafe without power. We are currently trying to reschedule the event for sometime in February or March. Success
The HPC travel team has just returned from a successful implementation trip in Abheypur, India. They completed the installation of two 5000L water storage tanks. They also improved drainage at the Girls Elementary School and rallied community support to repair a system from 2009 that had stopped working. Travel Team TAC Presentation
The travel team presented to the EWB Northeast TAC with the hopes of being approved.
Update: The travel team has been put on hold while minor changes are made to the health and safety plan. Approval should be granted pending the required changes.
December Chapter Meeting
Our final general chapter meeting of the year is December 14, 2010 at the Welles Turn Memorial Library in Glastonbury, CT. We will discuss the four new project choices as well as meet the candidates for 2011 officers.
