On Monday, November 7th, five of our members left Connecticut for a two and a half week trip to Sabhung, Nepal. This is our first trip to Sabhung and is being used to conduct a health assessment of the village, an engineering assessment of how the villager’s access water, and to understand how access to water can be improved. Currently, villagers walk significant distances to springs and seeps with buckets to collect water for their daily use. Our goal, with this project, is to help improve the village’s access to water through improvements to the existing springs and seeps and help design and construct new infrastructure systems to help water into the village. Please check back often, as the group will try to relay information back to us as the trip progresses and the access to electricity and the internet service allows!
